Picture Slide Show
I surprisingly really enjoyed this project. I wasn't sure on what to do at first because it was just so cold during the week, but looking around my house I was able to start to see different elements and principles that would be great to show.
Then today, on Sunday, it was nice and sunny out so I asked my friend to go to Chestnut Ridge Park with me. It was beautiful. We went to the Eternal Flame, which I have only gone to while in the summer, and it was an amazing thing to see with all the snow. It was beautiful. My some what creative juices started to flow and I was able to take some pretty nice pictures.
But even though it was such a great experience going out and taking pictures, I think my favorite would be the one I used for texture. Its a picture of my dog and I have never been able to get a good picture of her until today, and she was even letting herself be photogenic for the first time ever.
This project really opened my eyes up to different beautiful things that I live close to. I know the Eternal Flame is a very cool thing to go see, but I never noticed how beautiful and quiet things were there until today. I definitely think my appreciation for art and my surroundings is starting to grow.
Great job with the pictures. I do remember the weather being inclement during that time so it was nice to see someone braving the elements to take pictures of artistic elements. I wasn’t so brave, I just took all mine of indoor subjects. I especially like the picture of the carpet which could be texture, or color. Something as simple as a carpet, one wouldn’t think could have any artistic elements, but it does.

ReplyDeleteI really like the pictures you chose to use. Even though they were not labeled, I got the idea of what one what which. I also had a hard time with the weather and when I am not at work I am usually at school so I took most of my pictures at work. The carpet picture is something that I also did and a lot of pictures taken with the snow was a good touch.

ReplyDeleteAshley,
ReplyDeleteI really liked your collection of images. I agree that it was super cold the week of this project because I went to a couple parks and around my neighborhood's streets to get the pictures I thought would work best. So I definitely understand the weather issue. But, your pictures weren't labeled so I was not exactly sure what went with what definition. But, I noticed they were labeled in the html at the top of the page which is really strange that it did it like that. I think you did an amazing job on this project. I see a lot of my work in your work because we actually took the time to go outside in the freezing cold to capture the pictures and make a great project. I really liked your texture one of the dog and the pattern image, I think you really understood the definitions for those terms and it shows in your art work. Great project Ashley!

Hi Ashley! I loved how you used your dog in one of your photos to represent texture. I thought this was super creative and as an animal lover, very cute. I think that taking outdoor pictures like you did are always beautiful because the weather is always changing and I personally love seeing pictures of outside places that I have never been before. Great work!
ReplyDeleteI realized I did the wrong thing at first hahaha. Your pictures you chose I really like how well they describe the elements and principles. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you exemplified how multifaceted similar scenery can be in balance, unity, proportion, and movement. Also, how you incorporated nature into your shape, color, and contrast pictures.
